Mel Pedley

Mel Pedley is an experienced web developer and web accessibility consultant. She was involved in the initial stages of the award winning Leicester Disability and Information Network project and has provided consultancy services to a number of organisations within both the public and private sectors.

A senior member of the Guild of Accessible Web Designers, Mel was part of the Review Panel for the document "PAS 78: Guide to Good Practice in Commissioning Accessible Websites" which was developed by the Disability Rights Commission in collaboration with the British Standards Institute. This Publicly Available Specification outlines good practice in commissioning websites that are accessible to, and usable by, disabled people.

Mel is also currently part of Team Access at Accessites.org where her work includes grading submitted sites against a published list of accessibility and standards criteria and is part of the Web Accreditation Team as an approved Technical Assessor for the Shaw Trust.
