Email Software
"A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked." (John Gall)
Almost all email programs have similar, universal functions that allow you to:
- Access and read your incoming mail
- Save incoming mail in a file
- Print incoming mail
- Send new messages
- Reply to a message
- Include a file in a mail message
- Import/export special objects into/from your mail
Depending on your email software, these functions are either easy or difficult - but nearly always possible.
With all of the different email programs out there, and with all of the different commands required to run each program, how are you ever going to find out what commands are right for your email program? Well there are at least three different methods of getting help:
- Try accessing the Help function within your email program. This should cover most of the basic operations.
- There are often web sites or newsgroups offering help for many of the more popular programs. I've listed some of the more common sources of email help.
- Ask your Internet Service Provider.. This may shock you, but many ISPs offers some sort of instruction sheet, file or help facility to will teach you how to use the more common email programs. All you have to do is ask!
